About Us
Benji Barker has been a leader in the commercial painting industry for more than 20 years. He founded Imprūv Painting & Contracting with a simple belief: the industry gets better when we serve both our clients and the paint teams doing the work. Benji is passionate about service, systems, and raising the standard of how commercial projects are delivered.
Outside of work, he enjoys traveling for both business and recreation, using job sites as opportunities to explore regional food scenes and cross off bucket-list destinations. A proud father of three young boys, Benji often integrates family into the business. He is continually improving his Spanish and deeply values the immigrant craftsmen who are essential to the success of Imprūv and the country they now call home.
Laura Showalter joined the Imprūv Painting & Contracting team in 2024, bringing more than 15 years of experience in the painting industry. She is known for her strong focus on high-level client communication and a genuine commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience. Laura takes pride in building trusted relationships and making every project feel seamless for clients from start to finish.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys life with her husband and three children. In her free time, you’ll often find her traveling, playing board games with her family, or cheering on the Dayton Dragons or Cincinnati Reds at the ballpark.
Mark Peters brings more than 15 years of hands-on experience managing and executing commercial painting projects across the United States. After joining Imprūv Painting & Contracting part-time in 2023, Mark transitioned to a full-time role in 2025 as National Project Manager & Estimator, where he oversees project execution, pricing, and consistency across the country.
Originally from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Mark is a loyal Detroit Tigers and University of Michigan fan. Outside of work, he enjoys sports, video games, and hunting for great fast-casual food around Columbus, Ohio. While traveling for projects, he’s always on the lookout for authentic barbecue.
Andrea Traore has been a trusted partner of Imprūv Painting & Contracting since 2022, initially working with the company as a subcontractor before joining the team full time in 2026 as Regional Project Manager & Estimator. With nearly 10 years of experience in the commercial painting industry, Andrea is known for her commitment to client service, strong problem-solving skills, and steady leadership in the field.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and her energetic three-year-old son. A proud Salvadoran, Andrea is always happy to share her love of pupusas and the culture she brings to the Imprūv team.
